Tracks for a Swedish "S" Tank
Posted by MEL on Friday, October 7, 2011 2:03 PM

To All,

Is anyone aware of a source (ie: Model-Kasten) for separate link tracks for the Trumpeter Swedish "S" tank?  Thanks and Semper Fidelis..................mel

For which version?  the "B" uses its own style of tracks, the "C" uses the same track as the Leopard 2.

As Bronto stated, the B uses a type of track that is unique and often lands on wishlists of modelers who want new tracks produced.

Bronco makes the nice individual Leopard II style tracks.

I think it's the reason the C is in demand and the B goes cheaply on sales sites. Couldn't figure that one out years ago when the kits first came out, until I found out the difference.

Bronto,

Many Thanks.  The model I have is the Trumpeter STRV 103  "C" MBT version.  I am guessing that a Leopard 2 Track will work fine.  Do you agree?..........................mel

They would be the correct type for the "C", but I do not know if the Trumpeter kit is in perfect scale or that the Bronco tracks will fit it. I remember experts mentioning that the Trumpeter kit is over-scaled.

After a quick search, I found an old post (almost 10 years old) that discusses the scale differences. I do not know if the information they are discussing is accurate. The Strv is unique enough a tank to not be noticeable to me if it is over or under scaled by a small degree.
