Tamiya Willys Jeep. finished photos.
Posted by Delbert on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 7:04 PM

Hello everyone.

Just finished this one, and thought I'd post it here for everyones review. This post is a bit photo heavy, but I feel they are worth it.

Comments are always welcome.

and yes, I know the rear view mirror is missing, and I left the hole because I will find a replacement for it someday, which is why I left the hole open... (the mirror broke into 3 pieces when I tried cutting it from the spruce and part went to the carpet monster.

I'm very happy with how the tools came out. This is prob the best I've ever done on them

Also this is some of my best stowage. The canvas bits are verlinden the lettering is a combination of hudson & allen decals and some dry transfers. The cardboard boxes were made from printed paper card stock weathered a bit

.

a close up view of my scratch build strap that holds in the resin jerry can I added. not the best, but not bad for me. and another view of the stowage

.

and this on is prob a bit silly, but I spent quite a bit of time on the tires and wheels trying to get them just right... so here is a closeup.. LOL

Thanks for looking.

Delbert

Nice work all around. The stowage is just right, gives it some visual interest. Definitely one to be proud of. Beer

Nice work indeed! Yes

I'd dirty it up a little though. The guys using them were 17-20something years old and a lot were drafted. They'd be like kids in a candy store driving them all over (even when it wasn't allowed lots of disiplinary action for 'joy rides') Just my opinion though.

Nice work.  The stowage looks awesome in the back.  Makes me want to go buy one of these kits.

I'm surprised that I even clicked onto a subject like a Jeep but I am glad I did.

I'm surprised how much I love this, it's well weathered but still subtle, the stowage is a good balance, not too much, not too sparce. the tools are extremely well rendered and over all it it seems a very well presented model.

This is one of those models that will attract judges attention at comps for all the right reasons.

Well done.

Terry.
