Starteted painting today. I decided to go for the green on gray scheme. Seems interesting. I my BMP with Model Master Enamels Medium Gray, per the kit's instructions.

I have both mentioned kits by DML and ESCI still boxed.

Your progress seems straight forward so I'll watch your build and maybe give me courage to start mine.

Good start so far. This Zvezda kit looks like it needs as much work as the typical Skif kit...

It's a rebox of the DML BMP-2, one of their first kits and over 20 years old; my BMP instructions are dated 1989. The released three kits that are essentially the same, BMP-1 (3503), BMP-2 (3504) and BMP-2E (3588). The Esci BMP-1 and -2 were better, but only because they didn't use over-sized hinges to allow the hatches to open. The third company to give us a BMP around the same time was Lindberg's BMP-1U; a kit they never finished tooling, but released regardless.

Anyway, if you search for DML builds or aftermarket stuff, they will fit the Zvezda kit.

I bought this kit over the summer, got to building it recently. This is OOB. The fit is subpar, but given this is an older kit, it's decent. It will be a vehicle in Afghanistan in the 70s. I did not add the upper part of the tracks, because they will be hidden by the skirts and i'm not sure there's enough tracks anyway.
