I made a nice 'windsheldwiper-wiped' look on a Kubelwagon by taping off some half-round shapes on the windscreen, then dipping a toothbrush in some flat tan paint and running my thumb over the bristles, directing the spray at the windscreen.  Let the paint set, remove the tape, and it looked great, IMHO.

Dullcoat creates a nice dirty haze. Mask any place you want to remain clean and a light flat clear will make it look dusty/dirty.

First of all, practice on some spare clear pieces. Look for blister packs that some other product may have come package in, like batteries or packs of trading cards, etc.

Cut the windows to size and then use a sharp X-Acto blade to experiment. Draw spiderweb lines with the sharp tip to replicate cracks. Try cutting through the thin acetate to create broken glass areas.
