What Psi should I spray at?

I am new to the airbrushing and was wondering what psi I should be spraying at for gereral covrage?

Modeler#1: I use ModelMaster and Tamyia paints I use no more than 15lbs. of pressure thin your paint to a consistatey of milk.               ACESES5                    2 cents

It would depend on the consistency of your paint, your needle size and numerous other factors. The thinner your paint the less your psi will have to be generally. Pick a PSI...sy 12 and start spraying on a scrap piece and adjust to your liking.

Depends on your air source as well. For a general base coat, I spray around 35psi. For camo, closer to 20-25. It really depends on the air source. Practice on an old model if you can for best results.

There are many variables but between 15 - 25 psi, depending on the paint type, the viscosity after thinning, and the airbrush needle size. I keep a couple of paint booth cows....old models for test shots...its the best way to check.

For my model-master acrylics (minimally thinned) in  a Paschee VL with the high-flow needle, I always spray at around 20psi. That seems to give me the best paint flow while keeping it controllable. The lowest I will EVER go is about 15. Now I like to spray a bit thicker paint, so that's why the pressure is higher.
