I have had this kit for a while and only just started, with a Dilemma!

There is some interior

my Dilemma is that it will not be seen when closed up.

There is no painting guide should I choose to paint it, but as you wont see it should I bother.

I know this has cropped up before and some of you have painted and were happy in just knowing that it was there. I'm not sure.

So I'm left with Decisions, decisions, my head hurts.

Why do manufacturers do it...cheers....Kenny

I am assuming there is some sort of gril above this. If so and you don't paint, it is possable that the lighter parts might show through. that being the case, and me being one of those who would paint it, then i would say yes, paint it.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Short answer for why they do it? To provide options to those who want to show things open, maintenance situation, or destroyed/damaged vehicle scenarios. Big Smile

Agreed. If the kit didn't come with an engine, a resin company would have put one out that would have run what? $30-40? And those who had to have the kit built as completely as possible would have griped about it not coming with an engine.

I am about fifty per cent into the builiding of my Archer. A lot of time I spent assembling the cooling fan and radiators which as you said could not be seen at all when the cover and the grill is attached. These parts which are completely hidden I think added to the cost of the model. Even if an resin engine is available it still will not be seen.

Leave the interior parts out unless they can or planned to be displayed. They make great parts for the 'scratch building' bin.

I detailed a motor compartment of a 1/48 scale T-34. Just opening up the motor access panels would not have done the work justice so I hinged the entire rear deck to lift open like a sports car hood.
