Semovente AM barrel

I have the ancient Tamiya kit and noticed the barrel really needs updating. I see that RB models makes a sweet one, does anyone else? How about the MG as well?

RB is the only one I know of for the Semovente. Don't know of anyone who makes Italian MG barrels unfortunately.

Thanks Bill. Have you ever ordered from them?

I order from JB models all the time for RB stuff but haven't ordered directly from RB (do they sell direct?) JB ships to the US and has great service and low rates and I've never had a problem with them. They price in Euros but accept Paypal so it works out great on both ends.

Just be aware that the RB barrels don't come with any instructions so you have to be a little familiar and/or have some references available to assemble their stuff. Wink

RCR made stuff for the two Italian tanks. I've got the Semovente barrel (M02).

M01: M13/40 gun barrel turned in aluminium
M02: M40/75 gun barrel aluminium with resin muzzle

RCR also made a detail set for the 40/41. I've got one too.

Model Victoria is the place to look for the tracks. I have a set and wish I'd grabbed a couple.

Poke around MV's site to get inspired: http://www.modelvictoria.it/stepbystep_mezzi_en.html

Thanks Rob. Where can I find RCR stuff?

Bill, RB models I saw on ebay and it comes from a seller in Poland. Never dealt with overseas before. I can't seem to find anything locally.

Another note, do you have to saw off the Tamiya barrel and insert the AM one? That's the only way I see it working.

I have ordered from RB direct and it wasn't the best service. The last order i had to send several e-mails before i got a reply, i think it took a couple of weeks before they shipped it. I would suggest you takes bill's advice and order from JB.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I have ordered from JB as well and his service is good - he even asks for a confirmation email when you receive your order.

Perth's review of fitting the AM barrel appears to be a pretty straight forward

ModelVictoria does make a replacement machine gun, but it is not turned brass.

regards,

Jack
