M2 Bradley Interior Turret Details
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, February 2, 2004 6:49 AM
I'm building the M2 Bradley by Tamiya and am really impressed by the overall level of detail they provided for my money (I got it for $10 at Hobby Lobby last week during their 1/2 sales!) but am dissapointed at the lack of detail in the turret's interior. While there's a decent amount of detail to the crew and driver compartments, the turret itself is completely empty.

Can anyone suggest an aftermarket replacement, or perhaps a kit bash? I'd like to keep this under $20.

if you get the Academy M2 bradley kit it's pretty cool for the insides, my buddy is in Mech Inf and he said it was very close the the real ones he used to be on.

Eduard makes a Bradley interior in photo etch. It is #35613 M2 Bradley Turret Interior and is highly recommended.

Academy's M2 should run under $20. I was just looking at it yesterday. I don't know what Eduard's kit runs, but I have seen up close and that looks great as well.

The Academy M2 is a direct copy of the Tamiya M2 with a direct copy of the Tamiya Modern US soldiers thrown in. It still does not have a turret interior. The new Eduard PE set basically builds the turret interior with PE components.

I scratchbuilt one from Evergreen Sheet Styrene. If you can get good reference shots it's another option. However, if Major G. recommends a PE set, I'd go with it. He's very knowledgeable (weird looking word, eh? Knowledgeable..).

Ron,

Great job on your Bradley from a while back in FSM!! I just got to look at it this weekend via care package from my wife and kids. I take it that's the one you scratchbuilt?

Here is a great site with detailed shots of the interior of the Bradley, turret and hull.
