X2. Vallejo is the only paint I will use for figures, it goes on GREAT!!
Don't forget Vallejo's Panzer Aces, they are made for WW II figures and uniforms.
While Tamiya paints have never been a problem, I have had more luck with artists oils for face painting.
The oil paints blend better, and provide richer tone than the acrylics.
I even use artist oils to drybrush highlights over the base clothing color.
Hello Rivers. Surprised to hear you're havin trouble with Tamiya flesh paints. It' all I use for my figures and have never had any problems with it. Is your paint well mixed? I find two thin coats work best for me. For uniforms, I use Model Master Enamels, Feldgrau. For shadows and highlights I use artist oils thinned down to a watery consistency. Black for shadows and Payne's Gray lightened with white for highlights. Hope this helps.
Mike
I always heard that Tamiya paints are not very good for brush painting. I am sure someone else will chime in to give you a good answer to your question/

Hi
I'm looking for some advice with painting German tank / infantry 1/35 figures for my tanks. What are the best paints to use? should I give a base coat for shadowing effect etc ?
I have just gave a prime coat of grey to a few figures then begun to paint with the tamiya paints, although the flesh paint isn't holding to the plastic very well. Should I use oil OR humbrol paints instead?
Anytips welcome.
Thanks
