I have that 1/25 Tiger kit, plus the new Tamiyas, and I can assure you they are not related. The 1/25 kit has all sorts of proportion problems; the new 135 kits are very accurate in shape.

I wonder if those location points in the hull were relevant to the Sturmtiger kit, which I don't have...

Tamiya did do a 1/25 scale kit of the early Tiger as the british caught in the first Desert war (WWII). It had the same mounts on the inside as the 1/35 scale kit. It had interior detail parts such as turret floor, driver seat, radio officer seat and some others. Looking at the 1/25 scale and the 1/35 scale kits makes me wonder if they just didn't do rescale of the tiger for the molds. The crew that comes with both kits are identical also.

That probably explains the Hull. I still can't figure out how they (CMK) came up with the Floor plates being Tamiya parts. Oh well LOL I ordered the Academy Tiger I Mid production so I can use the floor plates from that of course I'll try to copy them so I can build the Academy kit later.

do you think the "New Mold" Panthers are also rescales of the 1/25 scale Panther kit?

Byrden

Thank you.

The instructions for your Tamiya kit are visible here:
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10000261

and, while it does have those mysterious attachment points in the sponsons, it provides nothing to go in them, nor does it provide any flooring.

I wonder if your CMK set was complete.

Which tells me that Tamiya did one with a interior. Much like the M2 Bradley kit had a interior but the M3 Bradley didn't have an interior if you see what I mean.

And I triple checked the instructions and it has 1 and a half pages that are the parts diagram showing all the parts that are included and the half moon shaped floor plates are not on the diagram so it they aren't on the parts page they aren't in the set.

the kit number for the CMK interior set is 3067. The Tamiya Tiger I Mid Production is kit number 35194*3200 copyright 1989 with the lower hull as a single piece without motorization like the later Panther kit with very obvious attachment points for the torsion bar suspension on the inside and location points for the hull mounted ammo locker for the tank ammo.

I am slightly baffled by your question.

I'm not aware of any Tamiya Tiger kits in 1/35 having any interior parts.

Also, this photo of a CMK interior set in an online auction (no connection to me) shows resin floor panels.

What was the number of your set?

I have a Tiger I Mid production in the stash I want to build as soon as I get a couple other 1/16 scale figures finished and I picked up the Eduard Zimmerit for it and the CMK Drivers set and the Interior set for it as well. I test fitted the fighting compartment floor into the lower hull and the fit was sweet no problems what so ever with the resin at all. The only confusing thing is when looking at the instructions step 7 has you install floor covers which aren't included as they are listed as Tamiya parts which is confusing as my Mid production never had a interior ( I double checked the Tigers instructions). BTW this is the "New Mold" Tiger series and am wondering which kit in this series had the interior for the fighting compartment and if anyone has the floor plates left over from another project?
