No worries. I need to go through my kits and see what tracks and would be useing and get them together. I am sure someone will find use for them.

My first suggestion would normally be a set of Fruils. But i really wouldn't waiste that sort of money on this kit, when as said you can get a DML kit for less.

If you are insisting on building it, i am sure i have a set of rubber band tracks some where that will fit as i replace all mine with metal ones. Off the top of my head, i think the Ausf D and A shared the same tracks, and i have the italeri Bergepanther that i have already got new tracks for.

Good deal. Yeah, if you are that far along there isn't any sense in stopping now.

.As this is my first tank build I'm happy to try a dragon kit next

I have to agree with Roy, and not from a "oh that's inaccurate so it's crap" stance. I don't even know if you can get AM tracks for it because the suspension on the kit is massively wrong. It is missing an entire row of road wheels for starters. The middle set should be double. Your best bet is if you want to keep your current build, find another Tamiya A to purchase. You can get them VERY cheap. Or scratch it and do like Roy suggested and go for something in the Dragon range. Their earlier Panther kits are quite good and a lot less parts than the current smart kits.

Excellent advice by both. Some of the later Dragon kits come with a PE barrel and engine screens. I think Panthers definitely need the screens.

Can I be perfectly blunt?  You should go on EBay and buy an older $20 DML Panther ausf A which will come with indy links and put the Tamiya kit back in its box.    It's not a stretch to say that the Tamiya Panther A is the singly most inaccurate 1/35 kit still being sold today.

I say get a DML Panther because even a cheap replacement track set will cost you $15.

Hello,

In an attempt to better fit my rubber tracks( With "Warm" water)that came with my Tamiya 1/35 Panther  Ausf A

,I have just melted them !

I now need a replacement set .

Which is the correct model to purchase for my Type A ,Early or Late ?

Which brand is easiest to assemble?

Thanks ,Jphick
