the "cryptic" remark about last mini-men was posted next to a Hornet figure of an elderly person.  I'm sure it's a joke about the dude's age, not the future direction of the magazine contents.

Too bad...although I gave it a third chance and actually thought Rick Lawler had a pretty good article...still way below what I had come to expect as a whole though...

Appreciate all the comments.......  I guess it comes down to what you like.......  Manny, if they did delete the mini-men section it would be a big loss in my opinion.

I'll still continue to enjoy the mag until something persuades me otherwise.

Enjoy the ride!

I like the fact that they will not knowingly publish an article that has appeared or is scheduled to appear in any other mag.

That's pretty much standard practice for all magazines though, with a notable exception.

They wont publish something that has been previously released in English speaking magazines. Often times we are allowed to sell our articles to French, Spanish, Italian etc. magazines as well, as our agreements with publications are often for English language only, depending on the publishers conditions.

You can find plenty of articles from MMiR as well as other English text magazines in the Italian-Steel Art magazine, or Spanish-Euro Modelismo (Panzer Aces sister publication) , or Art of Modeling (Belgium IIRC) etc. from authors like Miguel Jimenez, Adam Wilder, Mike Rinaldi and other well know names.

Lately they seem to be doing the same subjects (with a couple of notable exceptions) as everyone else.

Ditto...I also saw a cryptic little message in their "mini-men: section in this issue that read: "last installment of mini-men" or something close to that...

I've always enjoyed the magazine, maybe not always the content. Lately they seem to be doing the same subjects (with a couple of notable exceptions) as everyone else. If that continues, I'll be a little more selective in what I purchase. I like the fact that they will not knowingly publish an article that has appeared or is scheduled to appear in any other mag.

Thanks for the heads up on the new issue.

This is also my favorite modeling magazine.

I'll look for it at the book store

Quite welcome Ernest...  my pleasure

Rob,, ha,, good one.   I do enjoy the magazine but again, I agree that they should be a little more stable with their publishing.

Enjoy the ride!

On the plus side, a one year subscription can last you 3-4 years. I love the magazine; it's the only US publication left that's entirely devoted to armor modeling. I just wish it was published on a more stable schedule.

Manny,,  total agreement on their slacking / publishing.      They absolutely have taken schedules for granted.     As a subscriber I don't appreciate their complacency at all.

If it continues,,  I would certainly consider cancelling and going to a pick-and-choose purchase mode,,,  IF they were to survive that is.

Damn shame they don't seem to take things seriously......

(We agree that we agree..........)

What compounded my disapontment is the fact that it has taken forever for this issue to come out...publishing on anything that resembles a regular schedule has been an issue that has dogged them for years, to the poin that the editors joke about it in the mag on a regular basis...in the past when they published a great edition I always forgave them, but in this case I predict that if they put out a couple more like this and sticl to their irregular and erratic schedule, they will fold before too long...

Well,,,  I haven't read the articles (scanned through them briefly) but in my opinion, I thought it looked pretty good.     Great thing about diversity,,,       we can agree to disagree......

Enjoy the ride!

I have to disagree...I got mine last week and must say that IMO it is the by far worst issue I've ever seen them crank out, and I am a big fan of their mag...

Thanks for the heads up Bill!  I don't suscribe to MMIR, but it is one of my faves and gives me a reason to drive to D&J Hobbies near San Jose to grab a copy!  (unless someone knows where I can get one closer to San Franciso?)

Just a heads up for all us ground dwellers

I received the new MMIR yesterday (#54)             While I just paged through it and overall it looks good, I did linger in the "Short Takes" section for a bit.         All the latest and greatest products will get your heart racing for sure!

All the best.................

Bill

Enjoy the ride!
