New M-ATV MRAP from Panda Hobby engine?
Posted by chasblake99 on Saturday, January 21, 2012 4:57 PM

Just got this kit and it looks good so far with one execption, it doesn't have an engine or any detail inside the engine compartment, just a pan filler plate.  Not a major problem with the hood down but you can easily see into the compartment through the finely produced photo etched  hood mesh.  I've did some looking on the net and haven't found any good pictures of the radiator or the engine compartment. The engine is a 7.2 liter inline six turbo diesel made by Caterpiller.    Does anybody know if there is an aftermarket engine for this kit.

Thanks for the help

Charles

You can probably get away with using the CMK M939 engine set.  It has a Cummins NHC-250 8.3 liter inline 6 cylinder in it.  I was thinking about doing the same.

If you can wait I have no doubt that someone will release an engine for it. With two companies making them it's bound to be popular enough to warrant some upgrades. If you can't, then go with the above suggestion.
