1447 parts? Dunno about "nice", but it'd damned-sure be intricate, lol..  But there's no way I'd even try it without a diorama to show it "doing its thing"... A kit that big HAS to be shown that way, IMHO..

Something along the lines of Shep Paine's "Road to Damascus" diorama would be in order, although I'd use fewer buildings and other kits (Shep's dio had the Dragon Wagon, it's trailer, and an Isherman on the trailer, along with a Land Rover, WC-56, and a T-62, and that was just the models.. He also had three or four buildings on it, and about 10-15 figures)... 

That said, and this might shock some of my "regular readers", but I think I'd actually spring for that kit, even though the price is WAY too high, IMHO... But I'll wait until the price goes down a bit more if this kit's a new release... 

 But if I were to do this, yeah.. Definately a diorama, most likely of a crew recovering an IED-damaged M1 or RPG-damged M109 or the like...

I have the Faun SLT-56 and a Leo2A6 to go on th eback of it waiting to be built. The more I think of it I am considering doing a damaged Pz2000 on the back and the Leo 2 riding escort. Don't think I will get this as well.

i definetly agree on the dio idea Hans. i would definetly pay 140 for this kit but not the MSRP of 200 bucks. i like how it has the PE included too, not a seperate 50 dollar set.

Saw the tractor for one of these set up as a gun truck with an armored tub on the fifth wheel.  It had 2 M2s, 2 M240s and 3 M249s!  These are awe-inspiring vehicles.

saw the tractor and empty trailer driving into the national guard armory a few months ago too. you think a regular semi is big? ha!

Now that's a BIG vehicle!  Its going to take up a lot of shelf space!!

Yup, it looks like a great kit.  There are a couple builds of it ongoing at Armorama. 

The $200 at US shops is crazy.  You can already get it for about $145 via eBay or Asian sites.  I just ordered mine for the $145 including shipping.

This thing looks awesome!  I see these things almost every day and I cant wait to see some completed versions of this kit.  I agree that this could be the basis for a great dio.  Throw in a bogged down M1 and an M88 and you are in business.  I love to see the logistics side of the military being represented.

Dunno the MOS for Army truck drivers anymore, but back in the day it was 64 Charlie, or in the venacular, "Sixty-Four Clutch"...   Couple of those guys taught me to drive the M35A2 the "Army Way" at Ft Sill during AIT (I was one of the few trainees that had a civilian driver's license)...  Man... They were "richard-heads"...  But I found out during the classroom portion that they were "sensitive" about my commenting on their GT scores...

Saw it the LHS..wow...with 400 odd kits on my build list...this makes 401.

Hans, the MOS is 88M.  I got that as my secondary MOS after my Army Reserve unit was switched from Field Artillery to Transportation during the Clinton's administration. Your right, anyone can be an 88M, kind of like being an Army cook.

These HETs are huge trucks and slow puppies, 45 mph max, which is no fun running down the roads in Iraq.

This kits does look awesome for it being a truck, i.e. an unglamorous topic.

So who's gonna start the transporter GB?

if i wasnt in two other GBs already i would lol. if you want to start one go ahead, i will join when i get taxes back and get that monster.

Remember a large part of those 1447 parts will be eaten up with the 40 wheels and the suspension to hang them off the trailer alone.  I read a review of the Dragon Wagon and the builder noted how much drudgery there was to the repetitive assembly of the wheels and trucks for the trailer. 

Still, like others, I do look longingly at the Dragon Wagon kit when it shows up online and in the catalogs (like the current Squadron monthly catalog).  I'll probably pull the trigger one day, but not sure when I'll ever get around to assembling it. 

WC, build it!  I'd love to follow the build.  :-)
