M151 IDF conversion
Posted by tellis on Monday, January 30, 2012 3:25 AM

Inspired by a recent post of a M151, I decided to grab the Tamiya one from my stash and build it, but had already done the US version so I figured to try something else. After googleing some images I settled on the IDF version. The model was a quick build over the first weekend. I added the roll bar, additional storage racks on the sides of the vehicle, replaced the double sear in the rear compartment with a single (pirated from a Pz 38t), moved the pintle mount to the left of the rear compartment, added the MG mount in front of the passenger, moved the radio and antennas to the left side, modified the wire cutter to the IDF style, added a tactical sign to the spare tire (marking pirated from a Merkava kit), scrounged 2 machine guns (figured the IDF would use whatever was available) and added a tow rope to the front bumper. The vehicle was sprayed Israeli Sand followed by a burnt umber wash and pastel dusting and was complete by the next weekend. A fun build with no aspirations of a contest, just using one from the stash.

Sounds like a fun little project and adds a little variety to boot! Beer
