rust, part 2
Posted by woodworker on Saturday, February 4, 2012 5:26 PM

Thanks for all the great ideal guys.  I have another question.  Do any of you know of a book or article that would explain different ways to achieve the rust look?  I would need something simple/basic.  I have found that I am getting dumber, thicker, slower as I get older and I didn't start out as Mensa quality to start with.  As always thanks for the help/

Try here: http://www.scratchmod.com/

Rob, aka Scratchmod, absolutely DESTROYS tanks. While he does it, he will demonstrate some really easy to follow steps for acheiving a rusted look. The good thing is, the techniques he uses are easy to tweak depending how much rust and destruction you want.

If you can wait til the end of the year there will be one for beginner to advanced modelers.

I have an article in the Oct issue of MIM that covers how to rust a Sherman. Might help you out.

Thanks Boyd.
