1/35 US prewar tanker figures?
Posted by AUSTanker on Friday, February 10, 2012 5:50 PM

Greetings!

Planning to build a 1/35 Christie tank from the 1935 US Army maneuvers, but not seeing any figures for that era- any suggestions on what to use; how to convert existing figures into prewar US Army tankers?

There are photos of US Army tankers riding on top of the 3 Christies, in coveralls, but this was long before the classic WW Two tanker helmet- they seem to be wearing overalls and wool overseas caps.

Model Victoria has some Italian tanker figures in coveralls that might be converted, but they have ammo bandoliers across the chest- and how to represent US headgear of the prewar era?

Commander Series Models has some great light and medium pre- WW Two US tanks, from the "Mae West" to the M2A4 medium, and Decalcomaniacs makes decals for them- but I've never seen a 1/35 figure of a US pre-war Army tanker in the obscure "Doughnut" tanker helmet.

Any suggestions on how to represent an US tanker circa 1939-1941, especially in the rare "doughnut" tanker helmet?
