I'm building a Kpfw IV Ausf D and I was putting together the part that holds the chains over the muffer. I was putting on the extra thin glue on one part, I put the brush back in the bottle and got the second part to put inside the first part and the first part was gone, nowhere to be found. I could not see it anywhere then thought about the bottle. Sure enough it was INSIDE the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement bottle at the bottom. It must have stuck to the brush and when I replaced the brush inside the bottle I didn't see it.
I had to fish it out with tweezers and patted it dry as best as I could. Now I have to wait until tomorrow then I'll try to sand it down some to make it look smooth. It's ok but has a rough texture to it.
Anybody else made a stupid mistake like that???
Can't say I've done that. The closest to stupid is knowing your going to do it, then actually do it. Case in point I was putting a tiny piece on my H-39 cupola and didn't like where it was positioned. I said to myself, "If you redo it, it will fly away". Sure enough it tweezerpulted onto the rug and I never found the piece. I was lucky a forum member had an extra couple of pieces (lost 2 of them).

Oh yeah- recently, I put a tiny placard decal in the cockpit of my P-51-- hours later, I found it firmly stuck to my finger, upside down, and of course, ruined. Can't imagine how I did that!
Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...
I had a kit part disappear once only to find it glued to the lense of my glasses. Though when I was cutting a flap off of a AMT B-52 I got the piece of without a problem only to find out I was missing a piece of my finger. Talk about a stupid mistake.

I was building a Tamiya Jagdpanzer. I was cutting a small piece (hook) with a knife and it flew. It somehow landed inside a Tamiya extra thin bottle that I had left open. What is the probability??? I picked it up with a tweezer.
