Griffin, thanks!  Are you a member of the local IPMS? I still haven't checked it out.

I'm not a member. I'm not big into organized anything I'm more of a wall flower. I want to check out the show this summer though.

Greg, p38jl, Hercmech, thank you very much! Big Smile

tread, Eric!!!  I'm glad to be back my friends!  Big Smile   I stopped by a few times, but never really participated in anything until now.  I got a lot of catch up to do!

Griffin, thanks!  Are you a member of the local IPMS? I still haven't checked it out.

eh Satch!  I should have looked down in the forum before posting, I had no idea you were building the same kit. I did have some fitting issues, if I recall, at the exact same location.  At the time, I thought I did not glue the rear bulkhead properly, but if you have the same issue, maybe the fit is to blame.....

Here is a great reference on how to make weld beads!

How's it going, eh?  (I can say that, I was born in Toronto.)  I'm doing the same kit, though not as ambitious as you with the PE.  Did you have a problem fitting the upper hull to the lower and rear bulkhead?

Looking good.  I might have to try that weld seam on the front glacis.

Good to see you back my friend. I wondered what had happened to you.

Great start on the Panther. Another member Satch_IP, is also doing a WIP of the same kit, so maybe you can share info.

Not to worry GunTech,I to have spent more time lurking ,less time building. Yer Panther is looking grand,I to have been tinkering with the Ersatz M-10 version. Look forward to more pics.

Hey guys! It's been a while!     Big Smile

I finally decided to make it back to the fold.  The last 3 years or so went by way too fast, with work and other hobbies  Surprise  taking a larger and larger part of my time.  I never was really away, just became more of a lurker over time...

For those that don't know me: Jean-Michel, living in Edmonton AB, and Weapons Technician in the Canadian Forces.

I've kept building during this time, although, at a slower pace.  I started building this one about 2 years ago, and I think it's finally ready for a coat of paint this summer. Dragon # 6299, Panther Ausf.D Premium Edition.  I am trying to depict turret # 433, which should be a mid production Ausf. D.

There is way too many road wheels on this thing.... Some of them are well detailled with tiny, REALLY TINY inscriptons.

The magic tracks are well detailled.  They are, however, the same for both sides.  Not that big of a deal to me.

The kit offers a substantial amount of PE, but still can be refined further.

Putty weld beads........  pain in the b*tt, but well worth the effort.

I ran into a few issues while cleaning up the schurzen's brackets, resulting in a few hooks breaking off. I ended up keeping the bracket arms and scratching the hooks from aluminum.

The mantle's weld joints to the turret was mis-aligned a bit....

A nice little kit overall, but the instructions s***ed!

Cheers!
