Hello guys :). Well, since its spring break, I had some time and decided to build something. But instead of building anew model, I instead rebuilt my first model, my Walkerbulldog. (Original Post can be found here: /forums/t/138077.aspx?PageIndex=1).
The reason why I redid my walkerbulldog is because my bunnies broke free out of their cage one day (when i was at school) and went to my room and .... gnawed out the main gun tip as well as chop both antennas and gnawed through some other places too :(.
Bunnies got a new METAL cage so no more getting out XD.
It looked like a mess so I had an idea, why not make it into a burnt out tank? And thats exactly what I did. Im no expert, and this is actually my "3rd model" ever. I never did any sort of wash or heavy weathering so making a burnt out tank is my first. Spent 2 whole days just weathering, and sadly, with what was avaliable for me at the time... weathered the whole tank with acrylics and Tamiya weathering sets :D.
1 enamel was used for texture :).
The finished walkerbulldog looked very, VERY shiny that had a bright sheen to it. So I had to weather it down some with tamiya "pigments" or so called weathering sets. Then i used some Mr.Hobby Top Coat Flat spray out of the can which I never used before. I wanted a more "matte" look to my tank after I coated my tank 3 times but its alright. I guess hand painted weathering does give off more "sheen".
Good news is I got some MIG pigments and washes today. A 6 set sand and earth pigments as well as some washes. I won't be able to use them in this build however, since, well... I already built it :P.
Well, here's some pics on my new, burnt out Walkerbulldog. The setting: Desert. What kind? Maybe a near by beach in Korea that was abandoned in the Korean War. Possible :). I never really thought about what setting it should take place, I pretty much just weathered my way, which makes it somewhat inaccurate.. but I like it :). Geeze, I get carried away to much... well, here it is :):
As you can see, I made the diorama base out of an old Godiva Box I had at that time.
A more "clearer" view of what the bunnies did :D.
Well, that's all :). I might do an update with "new stuff" in my diorama such as wheels. All in all, I think the bunnies havoc on my old Walkerbulldog actually helped me venture out into a new approach on models, sometimes the rustier the better :P. Any comments or suggestions would be great. Thanks for looking :).
