Wow, busy few days.  This is going to be a huge post.

Fist off is color modulation.

Base color is Vallejo Ollive Drab.  Modulating colors are Life Color Faded OD #1 and a touch of desert sand.

Another shot of base OD to tone it down.

Markings.  The decal yellow and the stripe of Vallejo yellow didn't match so I had to touch up the decals.

Next was a oil dot filter.  I used too much green or the green got in the thinner.

The result.

Better lighting and another 502 Abteilung buff oil filter.

Next I used Vallejo Desert Sand pigments plus other various Vallejo pigments with Vallejo pigment fixer.  The fixer REALLY changes the color of the pigment when it's wet.  It dries lighter.

Some pastel chalk and dry pigments to finish it off.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied.  It looks better in person than in photos.  I'm not Mig yet as I can't seem to get the pigment application to look natural rather than contrived.

This is an early M4A1 of Co H, 1st Arm Regiment, 1st AD, Sidi bou Zid, Tunisia, Feb 1943.  Thanks for looking.

Nice work especially the color modulation at the start! Yes

I liked the rain streaks in some area as a result.  It would be great if you can make more rain streaks around the Sherman.  Do you have wide flat paintbrush?  You can use just little amount of thinner or water just to make the brush damp then rub downward where water would flow naturally... then use a dry brush to rub in same direction at the end.  Hope this helps...

Again, nice work!  I have same kit in my stash... one day I will attack it!

it looks great and I loved the in progress pics you posted...  my only question would be is there any way to fade the markings before you started weathering?  I ask because before you added the markings you had a great fade thing going with the OD green...  then you added the yellow stripe around the turrent and the american flag and they stand out like something that just came off the factory floor.  Even after your weathering they still show through nice n bright.
