Dear all,

Thank you for your time and for your kind commentsBig Smile

A couple of notes for those who are about to start this kit;

Assembly of step 3 is fiddly since each of the wheel axes comprise of 4 parts that need to aligned carefully without any support in this step.

I allowed each sub assembly to set for a couple of days between step 3 and 4.

I opted not to glue the rear springs (2 x C8) in place in step 3:1 since there are no alignment tabs.

They are in fact positioned by the the rocker arms (A3 + A39) that are assembled in stage 4:2.

The exhaust (A54) and its support bracket (A7) are designed in a way that allows you to press fit them together, fit the 2 in place with glue applied only to the bracket and then later take them apart again when the bracket has set. The exhaust pipe can now be painted and weathered separately.

Again, thanks for stopping by Smile

With Kind Regards

Dear all,

I have finally had the chance to spend some time on this, here is this weeks progress;

The wheels are sitting on poly-caps and are assembled simply to allow the wheel axes to be aligned.

The flat-bed is on its way to and the gun is starting to take shape but I am aiming to complete the undercarriage next week.

With Kind Regards

Dear all,
Time for some new Olive Drab adventures...
The LHS had one example left of this kit.
I have not seen a Hobby Boss Bofors before and had started to look at the Bronco offering but there you go :)
In fact this is my first Hobby Boss encounter ever!
I have not managed to find a lot on the internet but here is a review on Armorama by Dave Cox;
http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=7325

And an other one by Marcos Serra with some very good WIP pictures;
http://panzerserra.blogspot.se/2012/02/gmc-cckw-353-with-bofors-40mm-aa-gun_22.html

The kit looks very nice OOB, the GMC comes with a detailed engine, the gun looks the part and the wood detail s excellent.
You get photo etched details, 15 sprues in olive green, one clear sprue, poly caps, rope and a piece of wire.
The kit is broken down in 4 sequences, chassis and engine, body, flatbed and gun.
So far I have only done the 15 pcs engine, here is a first glance;
