My most recent build is a very small tank (tankette?) produced by Polish company Mirage of a Vickers-Armstrong “6 ton” Mk F/B in 1/35 scale.
This was a very strange kit. I had more parts left over than
what I used. Mirage must be planning to use the moulds for other
variants or other tanks. Also had some strange construction steps such as having
to cut down tank “pan” sides - not sure why it just wasn’t moulded that way.
Some fit problems but overall not too bad.
Instructions hard to follow since they were done in Polish and so, I am not
certain whether I built an F, a B or an F/B! Tracks were one piece vinyl
with a tiny vinyl connector that was supposed to be melted together!
Nightmare!
The kit was finished with model master enamels with rust/weathering done
with Winsor & Newton artist oils and Tamiya weathering pigments.
Clear coated to seal all with Testors dullcote.
Although small compared to other 1/35 scale tanks, it is
something different that stands out on the shelf. Even after some
difficulties with fit and those awful tracks (), I did enjoy the build and as a bonus, have
about 100 or so extra parts for my spares box. Some images below
and thanks for looking.
