Guys: I found the Buffalo on ebay for a buy-it-now price of $75 with shipping. Not $90...but close. AND I saw the Voyager PE set (another $30)...WOW It's a deluxe set but I think if/when I build this one I'll take the PE plunge!!!
jeffpez Thanks for the suggestion about a build log and pix but I have neither the disposition to keep a log nor a proper camera so I'll pass other than to sometimes provide an update.

That'll be fine...and thank you. Your descriptions and commentary have been great!...I look forward to more.
Thanks for the suggestion about a build log and pix but I have neither the disposition to keep a log nor a proper camera so I'll pass other than to sometimes provide an update. I just started the build having just finished the USS Olympia and thanks to my wife being out of town got about 8 hours in this weekend (I'm in my 60's and can do that sort of thing). This is a very impressive kit with no clean up required excepting some seams. Fit is so good that sometimes it's almost hard to get pieces together. There are numerous assemblies in the suspension that are not glued meaning they move and that requires glue being really dry before proceeding so I actually have four separate assemblies going at the same time. There are a huge number of parts and some are very small. Some sections require careful work to get alignments correct. In short, it's excellent and I love it. It ain't easy but that's part of it's appeal.
As I said earlier, it isn't cheap but considering all you get plus the time required I think there's a great deal of bang for the buck.
cwalker3: $90 BUCKS!!!...I think I saw it at LuckyModel for about $60 + shipping...I guess that could get close to $90. If I do a GB I'll gladly expand it to include Grandfather/ Grandson!
Bodge: You got the kit by mistake...huh? Tell MMM you'll do the review!!!
jeffpez: Thanks for the info!..How about starting a thread of your build with pic's!
Watching this with interest ...............
I've now got about 2 hours invested in building this kit and so far so good. It doesn't just fall together - you need to pay attention. Most everything fits fine but don't assume so. Parts that fit on one side may need a tweak to work on the other. I've also had to look ahead at the illustrations to be exactly sure of the placement of more than one part. In other words, if you have some experience and don't try to do two things at once (like watch TV and don't ask how I know this), I think you'll do fine. It's expensive but considering how long it's likely to take for it to be completed there's lots of bang for the buck.
I've seen the advertisement for the Bronco kit of the Buffalo here and it looks impressive but i havent looked at it any further due to the price tag . But the price does not always stop me from getting a kit . If the reviews are good and i get enthused enough about the kit i can over look the cost . I've also seen the vehicle on video's from Afghanistan and its amazing the survivabilty of the crew from an i.e.d. blast .
I got it several weeks ago but other than reading the instructions have done nothing with it yet. I hope to change that sometime this weekend. First impressions are very positive but that doesn't really mean anything.
I was sent the new Buffalo kit today from Military modelling magazine for a review and a build article. I was well pleases and surprised as i new nothing about it. I contacted them to thank them to find out they sent it to the wronge person and can i forward it on to someone else. What a bummer
The Buffalo is one sexy beast but at close to $90.00 it's a bit out of my price range right now.
The father/son GB sounds great, but let's expand it to grandfather/grandson too. My 8 year old buddy and I started Dragon's 1/72 Tiger a few weeks ago and we're having a great time at it when we get together. And lets not forget the daughters and granddaughters out there as well!

Guys,
Anybody checkout/have the Buffalo yet? Built it yet? I've been waiting for a kit (not resin) since I saw this bad-boy as "Bonecrusher" in the first Transformers movie. How about price?...what's the best price you've seen.
GB idea: My son(s) wants this kit too...anybody ever consider a Father-Son GB? Good bonding time and a great way to ensure the future of the hobby. Thoughts...
