Markings for Mini art jagdpanzer Su-76
Posted by Tankluver on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 12:21 PM

I noticed on the Mini Art Jagdpanzer Su-76 that there are markings for what appears to be the Wiking Division, is this correct? The instructions say the 1238th SPG regiment?

Not sure about Wiking, but i have never heard of the 1238th Reg. German SPG's were usually formed into Abteilungs, not Regiments. The Wikings was the 5th Panzerjager battalion.

Could the 1238th refer to the original Russian unit.

Found this on Wiki. Under the heading Background, at the end of that paragraph.

1238th is a Russian unit.

If you notice the markings for the other SU 76, Number 3 is also for the 1238th. And both Number 1's are for the 11th Guard Army, a Soviet unit. What do the kit instructions say.

This review seems more accurate on the markings.

Still deciding if im going to buy it, most likely i will, Im planning a dio with the soviet advance on Warsaw as the focal point. I want to portry the Fallschirm-panzer division herman goering in a somewhat resting but getting ready for another Russian assault, while 5th SS viking men and anti tank equipment prepare to give them flank support.
