Hi guys
Nice to be here, I'll be playing with image downloads so don't get too annoyed with me please.
Welcome Reserve. I assume you are/were in the military?
What's your preferred poison?
If you need help with photos, you can check out the community assistance forum and do a search or just ask one of us for help.

No sir, I was not the name I chose has more to do with lifelong comments on my manner I guess as I've been told for years that I tend to be reserved. Sometimes others can see things an individual does not I suppose.
Favorite poison would be the 18 year old Glenmorangie, lovely stuff. Will be quite busy for the next couple of days so wil not be messing around here too much, thanks for the welcome will be back soon.
Regards, Mark
Thanks and good to know Mark.
Now that we know your favorite drink, what is your modeling passion? WW II, Modern? German?Allied?
Welcome to the forum!
Greetings Mark
Welcome!
Will be looking forward to your posts.......................................

Welcome Reserve!

I tend to be drawn to WW II German armor. I could not say why, perhaps because they had good machines and they looked the part. I just started this hobby back up about a year ago after a 15 year break and am most active in the winter. Here in Montana, come good (not 25-60 mph winds at -10F) weather I am outdoors doing a variety of things.
I seem to be on a Panzer III run recently and I will now attempt to download a couple of images of the latest one...
Ha it worked. This, according to the box is the Cyberhobby Panzer III L altho I have heard that the L model did not have the hull escape hatches or the turret viewports. Let it be an up-gunned J then can't say as I much care had too much fun with it. The figures are the old Dragon DAK kit and the interior that one cannot see much of is from Verlinden.
Thanks for the warm welcome, all, I am really rather bowled over by it.
Cool Mk III. I believe you are correct about the hatch.
What part of Montana? My wife grew up in Missoula.
In Billings currently, not a bad place to be but Missoula's much more photogenic. Sure like it in MT, many very nice places to go get lost for awhile. Spent a few years in Olympia; can't say as I cared for the weather much but when the sun shone there was no place more spectacular than I've ever been. I liked the Olympics in particular.
Thanks for the compliments all, altho I am aware there are many here and elsewhere who are light years ahead of me in this hobby it's nice to receive a compliment or two.

NO one is the best. There is ALWAYS someone better........ ALWAYS!
Welcome aboard Reserve. Your in good comapny if your into German armour.
Thats a stunning build.. As for the accuracy, early Ausf L's did have the escape hatchs and view ports.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Welcome to the forums! Nice work on the CH "Tropen" L!
Little known fact about the L's...the first few months of production were just the J's fitted with the L/60 gun that were later redesignated as Ausf Ls to avoid supply confusion...so you can see "L"s with J features still present like the side escape hatches and turret side vision ports for a little while until they were deleted as part of the later L prodution run.

Cheers
disastermaster NO one is the best. There is ALWAYS someone better........ ALWAYS!
I so represent this! That is, there is always someone better then me in talent.
No, sir, nothing grand about me tho if I'd started earlier I could be a grandfather now.
A story of a Taoist master who was asked, “What is the definition of a master?” The Taoist master replied, “A master is someone who started earlier than you.”

Reserve, any chance to share how did you do the dessert floor? I have a panzer II that I would like to put in a dessert setting.
Thanks...
Celluclay with kitty litter rocks spread and pushed in while wet. I used a bit extra white glue in the mix for this to work well. Also spread a generous amount of blue gerbil dust which is available at pet stores over all the surface. It took about two days to dry, perhaps the dust slows down drying time. Since this kit has individual track links I took some extras and assembled them to make an impression tool and made the marks in the ground because I hate using the model to do this. Once dry I tipped the base on its side and dumped off the extra dust, tapping the bottom to dislodge all loose material.
I found some acrylic craft paint at the local hobby lobby, the color fawn, and airbrushed about four thin coats on. I thinned the paint with rubbing alchohol so it dries pretty quickly. After allowing a day or so for paint curing I washed it lightly with a Model Masters Grunbraun wash. After that, some Woodland Scenics tall dry grass with a bit of white glue here and there and I was done with it.
Hope this helps you out, good luck with your Panzer II project.
Regards
