Rope or cable?
Posted by constructor on Saturday, May 12, 2012 5:55 PM

I am currently building the Hobby Boss' M4 HST and I came to the part where I have to put together the towing equipment. The instruction says rope. Is it really a rope or a steel cable?

It sounds like a mixed up translation for 'wire rope' or a cable.

Sure modern climbing ropes are very strong and there are Kevlar reinforced rope for applications like construction safety lanyards yet my bet is all military tow cables are made of steel.

Of course it's a metal cable in reality.  Whether the tow rope (with oval loops at the end) or the winch cable.
