Panzer I Tracks Wanted 1/35
Posted by AFVfan on Thursday, May 17, 2012 1:28 PM

I'm currently working on a Panzer Mk IA in 1/35 scale. It's the Maquette kit with individual link tracks. The links are not very well molded. It'd probably take me longer to do them than I have in the rest of the model and I'm not in the frame of mind to fool with them.

I'm looking for a set of vinyl tracks that I can use as a replacement. I'm willing to spend a little bit on them and pay for the shipping. While someone in the US would be preferred, to keep shipping cost down, I'm open to hear from anyone who can help me complete this thing and get it off my bench.

UPDATE: The tracks can come off of any vehicle built on the Mk I A, B, or C chassis. I would also take a set off any Mk II ausf. A - F (I'll have to shorten them but the link style and width will work).

Please reply to this post and I'll get back to you. I will also post on here if I find a set. Thanks in advance.

I T-H-I-N-K I have a spare tracks that I never used because I used aftermarket ModelKasten tracks on my Pz I A.  I can not remember what I did with it so I will look for it later tonight.

I imagine that Italeri makes the only Pz I rubberband tracks unless I'm mistaken. Sorry I can't help you though.

Sorry I don't have a spare tracks.  I checked other Pz I kits I had in my stash and they all came with just one set of tracks.  Wish I could help... hope somebody will step up.

If i am not mistaken, the Panzerwerfer 42 has the same tracks as the Pz I. I have the Italeri kit, and i am sure it has vinyl tracks. If so, i will have a set of Fruils to replace them. I will check when i get back to camp tomorrow and if so you can have the kit tracks. I might not be able to let you kow for sure until next weekend.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Hi Bish, thanks for the reply. If you are referring to the half tracked Maultier rocket launcher, it doesn't. I actually have one of those in my "to be built" stash and the tracks in that kit are much wider than a Mk I's.

There were some variants built on the Mk I chassis, though. I hadn't even thought of them as possible sources. Also, I just noticed the Mk II's tracks look compatible (though they would need to be shortened).

I may have a set of one piece vinyl Italeri Pz I tracks. I loved that kit back in the 80s and bought the command version recently. I'll have to check to see if they still include vinyl tracks though.
