Great job there!!! Really like the peeling whitewash. Yes

And fantastic work for you second armour kit. My second I painted with Tamiya acrylic paint and then sprayed on a heavy coat of Testors' Dullcote without reading the can that the paints aren't compatable. The Dullcoat discoloured half the paint and crazed the rest. Propeller

thanks guys, I just think I will go back and add the screens. wouldn't be the first time I have revisited a build.

DBoger: I'd suggest leaving it as is.  This is a tough paint scheme to "blend in" after the fact.... AND IMHO we learn as we go...you may be a PE and aftermarket goodies kind of guy, you may not be.  On the next build try PE an see what you think.  Food for thought...Pizza...again, YesYes on this one!

my Stug is a IV :(

It just means you'll have to buy one. Big Smile

In my adventures to the hobby shop Sunday (since I work there part time on the weekends) I will see if we have a III in stock.

WOW!  Your second build?  Impressive!!!  My second build was not as good as yours... trust me! Love the faded winter camo...

Spare tracks often rust because they are steel and they rust while not in use quickly.  Maybe you can apply little rust to the spare tracks since it survived the winter...

Looking forward to see your future builds.  I plan to sign up for Big Cats GB if it happens.  I am hosting Pz III & StuG III GB right now so if you are thinking about building your StuG... please feel free to join as it is still kicking and it ends in August just in time for another GB.

Great built! I like the camo. It was spot on. I agree about the screens. It would have nailed it.

Bish

Lovely work on the Panther. Your braver than me, i haven't even attempted a winter camo yet.

Tiger, your launching a Big cats GB. Well, no matter how busy i am, i can't miss that. SMJ's Big cats GB was my first, and i have a nice range of cats to choise from. You can count me in.

I hope to. There has been a lot of buzz. I'll see what happens, but decided to wait until summer was over, so more people would have the time to join. I'll fire up the GB in August with a start date of Sept. 1st, the 73rd Anniversary of the invasion of Poland.

This is my second tank built, I finished it about a week ago. ...

2ND TANK BUILT!!!Indifferent...I have a few suggestions that make winter camo's pop, but if this is your number two tank you just need to enjoy your work and consider this a real success, ...this is REALLY well done!!!  I don't think I've seen your work before (I've been AWOL for about two years)... I look forward to seeing number three!  What you got in mind?

DBoger

I was going for was an early spring look where the white wash camouflage was starting to wear off.

You definately achieved that look!Yes

Welcome Sign Don.

Love your Panther. Anthony touched on the only thing that really caught my eye about the screens. I really like that whitewash. Great to see some new talent and I really look forward to the Jagdtiger.

If you can hold off until September, I should be kicking off a Big Cats Group Build that will be a ton of fun.

Thanks. I got to thinking about the screens after the model was finished. My Jagtiger will have the screens and a a few other bits, seeing how I will be building the X7 out of it.

Your whitewash technique came out great !! Yes  The weathering on the tracks looks real good also. The only thing I would say is that with all the effort you put into it,I would have added some PE screens over the fans and the vents.Thats it though, but really nice work.

I'd say you absolutely nailed the look you were going for.

This is my second tank built, I finished it about a week ago. This one started off as an experiment and I never intended to finish it. It got so far along I liked how it was coming out I decided to go ahead and finish it up.

The look I was going for was an early spring look where the white wash camouflage was starting to wear off. Paint is all Vallejo. Chipping was done with AK chipping solution. Tracks are the Friulmodel weathered with AK mud effects and plaster. Hopefully Tank number 3 will be a little bit better. This one took me almost 4 months to build, and I stopped counting hours at 100.
