How to Paint M4A3 Road Wheels?

Get a cirlcle-template... It's probably the most useful armor kit- tool on my bench... 

I shoot the suspension's volutes prior to assembly, right on the sprues...

Roadwheels get shot with my "Rubber" color, then masked with the circle template to shoot the inside area of the wheel with OD..

After assembly, the volute gets touched-up with a brush..  

Compared to painting Sherman wheels, painting Tiger wheels seems like a piece of cake!

You can also do this with the Tamiya bogie axles to allow you to put the roadwheels on and remove them as you see fit.  One thing to remember is that the return roller (near the top of the bogie) and the idler (at the rear) were all metal and had no rubber tire -- sometimes modelers miss this.  Also, remember NOT to put the side armor plates on this model.  It's a mistake by Tamiya to include them.  The M4A3 75W did not need them.  Enjoy the model!
