AFV Club's 105mm Howitzer M2A1 with M2 carriage
Posted by constructor on Friday, June 8, 2012 2:34 AM

I just finished building AFV Club's 105mm Howitzer M2A1 and carriage. As of shooting time the towing pintle could not be located under my working table.

I was very happy with the detail although I had to take care of the very small parts. The towing pintle disappeared but I hope to locate it from under my workbench.

Looking good....a couple of items.

The panoramic telescope sight on the right side (looking from the front) appears to be angled toward the front. It should be straight...perpendicular and level to the ground.

The aiming posts (red & white poles) look good. In operation if the howitzer was emplaced (trails open) the aiming posts would not be on the trail.

Otherwise looking good

I'm afraid I don't know much about the actual field piece but modeling wise it looks great to me.

BTW: I did a little work on my Dragon Ka-Mi and have been using your posts on the mistakes in the instructions to avoid some of the issues in the kit. Thanks!!!

Thanks redleg12. I know you will be the one to ask about artillery. The instruction does'nt say much about these small things.
