Thanks mate...when I have more time tomorrow I will give a little run down on how it was achieved. The tracks have yet to be finished, as do the wheels..I was trying to buy a specific chemical for staining and weathering the tracks but I can't get it in the UK so I'm going back to the paint bath idea, then a wee dust and hopefully some fake snow..

I noticed the tracks were not weathered . From what i've read on these forums some people have good results with the metal  track weathering  chemicals and some do not . I havent attempted using them myself .

The tracks have yet to be sorted out, I built these up and attached them loosely and then left on. There is a longer piece of wire on one track link so I can just pull it and they undo easily. As for painting, a chap in another forum recommended (as memory serves) a mixture of a few different acrylic paints and the dip the tracks for an hour of so, leave them to dry and them spray a thin wash over the top..hope it works...

Thank you Ben, it is one of the later builds I did after I got a little more practice and experience.

The tank it's self was base coated with Tamiya spray acrylic green, then a thinly dry brushed / stippled a Humbrol mat white onto the green, this was repeated 3 times in total to get a kind of semi translucent feel to what would have been brushed or broomed on whitewash..

The turret markings i painted on. I made some stencil's from the original decals placed in a scanner, then cut out the copies and gently drew round the edges of the stencils. Black Humbrol was used and then a little dragging to effect a kind of rain smudging. I don;t know how they would have treated the marking on the tanks during whitewashing? Would the have washed around them or painted them back on? I don't know so I went for the bang the wash on and draw makings back on. Weathering was oil pastels, scrape markings, matt black washes applied to areas rather than all over..

As I say, the tracks are still a WIP that will be finished when I get this kit  back from storage..

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news (the build and finish are absolutely beautiful, which is more important), but you've got the slogan backwards -- the Cyrillic letters that look like "3A" are actually the word "za," and the slogan is "za Rodinu" -- "For the Motherland". 

dang star wars steve, it really looks sweet, cant imaginewhat a snow speeder would look like from you...  even if the decals are backwards the tank looks heavy...

You can get it in the UK dude. I either use Track Black from Tim Ivatts or AK's Friul Track Blackener. Both easily sourced in the UK.

I'd go to Creative Models for all weathering stuff as they have everything.

This stuff is great - when the tracks are treated I use Mig Productions Rust Wash to add some life to them.

I have looked at the Track Black Site and it doesn't work anymore so he might have stopped selling it but the AK stuff is fine.
