Trumpeters "Grasshopper" seems to contain quite a bit more of the hoisting gear than Dragons,although I have not looked into it at length yet.

                   Thanks for all the kind words and questions. First off ibuild148 that turret ring cover was assembled using the kit supplied cover as a pattern,though not followed to a "t".some scraps from the photo-etch frets was used for straps and hinges. And the cover itself is made from the sticks used to stir coffee. I spied these while at work.

                    And on to the next Q, Tony theres a model railroad guy up here that somehow captured two,two I tell ya, Kebbler elves,he now has them employed in the model railroad aftermarket producing safety chain in HO scale at forty links per inch.And already blackened to boot. Did you ever hear of such a thing ! I'll post a pic of the packaging for you when I find it ok...Oh by the way who's photo-etch set are you using for the lifting gear,assuming you are building the Dragon kit.

I am building one and I really like that ring cover.

May I ask what you used for the timber and what thichness?

I am assuming you glued the strips and then used a compass to draw the circle and then cut the ring?

                         Got a bit of primer on her.

                      More Bergepanzer tinkering,using the R&J ent. interior kit,of which I am still kind of undecided. My example seems to have been suffering from a "HOT" batch of resin or something.Fenders are Griffon as are the muffler brackets,and as always some of my personal touches.

                     As always any questions or comments are welcome. And a question to some who may have better reference materials. Where the auxiliary air cleaners used on the H removed when converted to Bergepanzers ?,if H"S were used.

Sorry to say... agree with Bill... zimm it!  It just brings a lot of character to any armors with zimm on.  I know you are crazy enough to do this.

My vote would be to zim it...just because of the added weathering opportunities that would present.

                           The crane parts seem sturdy enough and there are extras in the box,it is Dragons smart kit I picked up as a facebook special. Deafpanzer when it comes to bashing kits and such I guess I am Hannibal the kit Cannibal. But alas the question remains,to zim or not to zim...?

Chains look just GREAT!!!!!!  Glad you didn't use the kit supplied chains.  Wood and tracks look real good too.  Am afraid to ask how many kits have you cannibalized so far? LOL 

It's looking really good so far Greg!  How fragile is the boom and crane?

malone, there was a vehicle that has been called a Bergetiger, but it was believed to have been a one off and wasn't used for recovery. There was a kit of it by CMK.

Malone, Italeri also had a Bergetiger, as well as a Bergepanther. Both are OOP I think, and I scored both on E-Bay. Took me a while though, and it seems they will benefit from lots of improvements.

awe man awesome!!!!   i love the wood work...   and really dig the work on the crane...  i'm so glad i caught this thread cause now i know that the crane on my jag was done right...   man you might have gotten a bug going in my to do a berg something...   maybe a berg tiger if there is such a thing... be nice to pull a motor out of the afv club tiger extra late i'm gonna build for tigermans group build...

Can't see a thing wrong with it so far, me. Keep going at the same level and I figure it'll be a knockout.
