Hey thanks Marc, glad you liked her!

Is this the same as the Johann Huber jagdpanzer ? I have that one in the stash but its the DX05 issue and not sure if I should build it or archive it as a collectable.HEHEHE,not much of a chance that will happen though.

Nope this is the old, almost ancient Jadgpanzer IV Lang command version. Here's one on Ebay.  I don't think it's worth anywhere near what that guy wants, I got this one for twenty bucks from a guy who was cleaning out his old stuff to make room for more Dragon 'Smart' kits. I'm not sure if the Johann Huber special edition is worth anything or not, I do see them around at shows so I don't think they're that rare.

AI have always liked this vehicle, not sure why I haven't built one other than 1/72.

Yours looks great.

Nice work on the 3 year project...always better for a shelf queen to get across the finish line at some point rather than never! Wink

Hey thanks guys!

Funny, one panzer expert told me that there's a good chance that a Jagdpanzer IV produced that late wouldn't have any zimmerit at all Bang Head. Still it was fun to apply, I just use Squadron white putty, an Atlas razor saw, and a good wash of rubbing alcohol to make sure nothing sticks. I have a set of special tools for it from Tamiya but I find the good old razor saw easier to use.

Eric: Nothing special on the tracks, just painted a dark grey with a little steel mixed in then a wash of black. I'm still not crazy about how they came out, maybe a little mud would help. And should the spots be smaller? I just figured the crew had put them on with a four inch house brush or the equivalent. Confused

Ernest: Thanks, I'd assumed the jack block would be just plain unseasoned wood so I just painted it tan, I can still paint it darker. I went back and looked at the jack and noticed while it is painted I didn't weather the foot of the thing, which does look greyish in the photos for some reason while it's actually just plain mustard panzer yellow. Maybe it's due to the weathering turning the rest more brownish? Thanks for the help, I'll go back and see about painting and weathering the block and jack, can't believe I screwed the pooch there but it should be easy enough to fix Dunce

Nice looking Lang Gamera!  Nice late war ambush camo job and sweet work with the zim!  Hand applied zimmerit can be tough and you did a great job with it, congrats!  I have just a couple of very minor nitpicks:

The jack block on the rear panel looks funny, like you didn't finish painting it?  Jack blocks were made of good solid wood which usually looks darker.  Also, the jack on top of the engine deck also looks unfinished, some bare gray plastic seems to be visible on the jack foot.  Or maybe its just the lighting in the photos?

Overall, very good build! Yes

YesGreat looking Lang Cliff. I love your home applied zimmerit. More guts then I. I do like the weathering of the tracks, you'll have to share that technique. My only recommendation is to make the spots smaller next time around, otherwise kudos.

1/35th Dragon Jadgpanzer IV Lang

Ok ya'll here's Dragon's old 'Imperial Series' Jadgpanzer IV Lang which I've been working on and off for about three years now Indifferent Well, stick a fork in her, I'm done. Added zimmerit with Squadron white putty but otherwise built the kit right out-of-the-box. No big hang-ups but did try a few new techniques like a filter to dull the polka dots.

Lemme know what I need to fix or improve on here, I've tried to make this a learning experience:

Photo with flash, didn't like how it turned out but you can see more detail.
