I have had success with melting them in the past.
Another simple idea is to staple them then hide the staple under a roadwheel, add a little mud and no one is the wiser.

If you are going to use the heat method to join your tracks try this, turn the track so they are inside out ( cleats on the inside of loop) now make sure the little pins are all the way thru the holes in the other end of track. Now heat an old #11 blade over a candle. When the blade is heated remove from heat, now get blade as close to the pin as you can without touching it. You will see that the pin will start to melt. As soon as you see the pin mushroom remove heat and press down on heated pin between thumb and forefinger. This works much better then actually trying to melt the two ends together. I hope this helps. Welcome back to armor jcall

I've got their Stewart. The tracks are really narrow. I did melt mine togehter, but got a little carried away with the first one and pretty much melted it through. The other side went okay. I just superglued up the first one as best I could and put it up on the top of the run where it's harder to see it.

Good luck with it. And welcome to the forum!Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

I am currently building their 1/72 scale Churchill Mk2.It has been a while since I have built any armor models and I am wondering whats the best way to join their soft rubber tracks.Since there are no skirts or shields to hide a bad join I want to make sure it is done right.

The instructions say to melt them together but I am a little hesitant to do that.I tried asking at my local hobby shop but those guys just deal with RC cars so they were not much help.
