Looking for 1/10
Posted by Kial on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 1:56 AM

I have been searching for a year or two now looking for a 1/10 scale model of either a Ferdinand; Jagtiger; or just a regular Tiger all in the 1/10 or 1/8 scale range. I am trying to build a PC using the the model as the case. I am pretty good at assembling and painting but making from blueprints is not an option. I do not have the tools to do so or more imprtant the skill to make it, lol. But any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all.

You won't have any luck finding an existing model in that scale as it's not a "standard" scale used in the industry. 1/16 and 1/6 are the closest you're going to find unfortunately.

Well that's not good, lol. 1/6 might be real huge for what i need it for.

A std ATX mobo is fairly big, as is the power supply & the cpu runs between 40-70 degrees C. Normally!
A bit warm!
& unless you direct the PSU fan output as a what if hover tank you risk it melting,, if not a fire hazard

If I was doing this, I would Google micro-ATX custom cases.
I remember someone building one of these low power pc's (with laptop style power brick) into a mpc millennium falcon

Alternatively, Google a raspberry PI, an ahem. British pc the size of a cigarette pack!

Good luck

yeah, i did take heat into consideration and decided on a micro atx board, i was looking for a Ferdinand or tiger and i was going to cut the armor in the front where the grill would be and out in a fan with a mesh style metal piece to replace the grill. also had thought about using the actual exhaust  system with a fan in the back to shoot it out the stacks. thought of a push/pull fan set up with water cooling in to boot. the power supply would either be in a custom built stand or external all together. thought about r/c tanks but they are just as equally hard to find in that size.

1/16th scale tank kits, let alone RC ones are fairly expensive, several hundred dollars for the tank kit alone (doesn't include radio).
