Hi Guys:

Thanks for the input to my problem. I have used the wire method before for mounting my metal race cars onto display bases. I can see where mounting the cobblestone base onto a wood base would give it something on grab onto. Do you need to put somekind of sleeve (brass or plastic) over the screw between the bottom of the tank and the street to keep from tightening the screw down too much?

Thanks again

Another method, but a little bit tricky, is to wire it onto the base. Loop a piece of wire around one of the middle suspension trailing arms on each side of the tank and run the wire to the inside edge of the tracks. Drill holes for the wires through the base and secure the tank. If you are careful, you won't see the wires at all.

Yup, I concur with the ol' screw into the base method.
Quick, easy, solid, and secure.
You can easily remove the model from the base anytime you'd like, too.
Paint the screw flat black and it's practically invisible.

Chazsmith, Epoxy the cobble stone down to the base then what I would do is run a screw through the bottom of the tank an into the base. Not the most glamourous but by far the most efective means of attaching it. Also since you are going with cobblestone you don't really have the option of gluing it down with the groundwork... Here is my example, done for the Panther group build. The screw is not obvious unless photographed low from the front or back...

My 2 cents...

Mounting a T55

Hi Guys:Smile [:)]

I've recently completed a T55 and for the first time I've used metal tracks. I'm mounting it on a Verlinden cobblestone street section made of resin. I would like to know the best way to attach the tank to it so it doesn't fall off when someone handles it. I also have one of the old ceramic cobblestone street sections that I could use instead but prefer the resin one. Is a wood base better? I'd like to show off the weathered tracks and not cover them up with dirt/mud like I usually do.

Thanks
