The US Army also used a fairly glossy dark olive color during Vietnam so a little shine on a tank from this era is not in error.

I agree with the previouse answers . Just put a coat of matt over the finished glossed area .

Ditto what Bronto said.  Some armor builders don't bother with the clear coat if the decals don't have a lot of film around them, but American AFVs have all those small designation letters on the hull and the clear film around them just promotes silvering on matte paint surfaces.

Yes, the process for adding decals is the same for armor as it is for aircraft

Hi all,

I'm building my first tank after seeing this months issue, it also coincides with my model clubs group build on Vietnam. Anyway, I know the kit has all sorts of issues but for me its a change from Aircraft, so my question is really simple and sorry if it sounds basic, but should I use Klear on the shell before decals like I do aircraft and then weather and matt coat it after? I intend to use Migpigments and Life color rust and dust set to get it looking like its been in the feild for a few weeks as well.

Cheers

Ade
