RoG 1/35 Leopard 2A5

I picked this beast up on Ebay for less than $20 bucks and it arrived Yesterday. it was still  sealed along with that I had also picked up Tamiya 1/72 scale Nakajima Hayate also still sealed that arrived yesterday.

After looking through the kit I might need to replace the vinyl ( I think it is vinyl but it is harder than vinyl) 4 piece tracks with something from either Bronco or AFV Club and probably get a RB Model replacement barrel for the shorter 120mm L/44 cannon. Of course AFV Club make some colored foil for the vision blocks and CTV turret.

The kit looks good looks like a newer Italeri kit with a lower hull pan that doesn't have motorization holes and markings for 4 different BundesWehr KFOR tanks and the Loaders MG3 looks pretty decent (looks like a MG42 though).

This is my 2nd BundesWehr kit the other being a half finished Marder 1A2 APC.

As far as I'm aware, it is indeed a rebox of the Italeri kit. I've always disliked the harder vinyl that Italeri uses for their tracks.

The MG3 actually evolved from the MG42, so there is a distinct resemblance.

I'll definitely be hollowing out the MG3 barrel. Well the harder vinyl technically is a improvement over their earlier vinyl tracks but I'll still replace them with AM tracks. And I have seen some Eduard PE for the Italeri A5 I'll definitely have to pick some up.
