Are you refering to the white, cloth tape the medi's use to tape stuff to your body?? What I call adhesive tape? Or is it the newer stuff that's made out of paper and isn't supposed to hurt when they take it off, but does anyway??

I have a whole bunch of stuff. 2 canadian greatcoats, couple of more modern uniforms, south african air force uniform, german police helmet, ww2 m1 helmet, more modern m1 helmet, 3 canadian helmets, 3 canteens (german, canadian or british, american), cap badges and some other stuff i can't remember right now.

Thanks Ed. I was thinking of doing something a little on the yellow side that would be seen a liitle easier. SOunds like the colors where like buying pants today, just depends on who made them and what size they thought sounded good to put on them.

Chris, as far as GI web gear goes, it depends on who manufactured it and when. I have a collection of WWII and prewar web gear. Some of it is Dark OD green, some a sort of medium green. The vast majority is what I would call kakhi, a yellow in any number of shades from medium to light in color. No two manuracturers have the same dye lots. Similarly, no two different items from the same manufacturer seem to have the same shade. As I said, it all depends on what and when. Hope this helps. - Ed

The covers I usually paint Khaki Drab ... which is slightly off O.D..
For straps I use medical tape, the nice thing is it sticks to the object very well and has a texture that seems to work nicely.

LQ2: For straps I use strips of tin foil (the one you get under milk cans - tin foil wrap is also OK but it is too thin for me). Easy to cut, fix and bend. Just prime for better paint adhesion.
