BR 52 (LOTS of pics)
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, July 30, 2012 10:44 PM

So I've been out of the hobby for a year or so, dipped my foot in the pool here and there, but got back in seriously about 2 months ago. Decided to come back w/Trump's BR 52, and have changed my mind how I want to build it about 20 times. I would like to thank Bill Plunk, Marc Vandorpe and Bill Harriott for their reference pics I got off the web.

I initially built the body, painted the base color, and was going to add all the littles after. Bad idea. I spent a cpl hours scraping paint at glue joints. I got the idea to open the front from Marc, and I will be displaying this as abandoned somewhere in eastern Europe. Anyway, lots of pics....

Going to redo the sandpipes with wire. The vinyl ones about gave me an aneurysm...

Interior. I spent probably 28-30 hours on just the interior.....

Exterior....

Front opening....

Great start Brutus. I like the cab area and cracked windows.

Nice work on the details. BR52s have so much room to play with, having the front open is a nice addition to the "abandoned" feel! Yes

More solid progress, looking forward to seeing the exterior get beaten up.

Great looking progress on this project and I will be following closely considering I am building the same kit at the moment.  Love that interior, the colors and weathering in there looks just great.  Really like the idea of it being abandoned and the weathering that you have started to represent that.  Keep up the great work!
