Panther Question
Posted by detailfreak on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 11:35 AM

As I was cruising Evil-Bay I came across this ref.: The Panther Project vol.1. Anyone here had a chance to see or review this book? Although thisshould be in the reference area I just thought I might have a better chance here.

How about you save your cash and have a look at Toadmans Tank Pictures site. It's the restoration of a Panther A at the Military Vehicle Technology Foundation. Hundreds of photos of the tank being taken apart, cleaned, restored and reassembled to factory specs... It is easily equal to the Panther Project Book and Chris Hughes took the photos and puts them on his site for free.

Detailfreak, Dang really?  What are you for? I have a number of books on the panther maybe I can help. I can sympathies though. I am in the same boat with a Sherman project. I can find photos of everything but what i'm looking for.

(I have edited this post to make up for the talk-to-text illiteracy my phone has... :)

I am looking for a picture of the inner hull floor showing the locations of the floor crossbracing ductwork and such. Most pics only show bits and pieces and it is quite difficult to get an idea of the complete layout, the Panther Project is a compilation of photos with text explaining what each part or structure is for. I have seen some of the pics in this book and it looks like it could be a winner.

Snatch it up then, by all means. I have a resin floor from the Tigermodels BergPanther conversion at home with a lot of the pluming on it. I could take a photo of it. From what i've been able to gleen, it's very accurate.
