Painting Tasca Tracks Question
Posted by darson on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 10:00 PM

Hi guys, I am currently building the Tasca Sherman II DV El Alamein kit and I plan on using the kit tracks which are the glueable rubber band variety.  Has anybody had any experience with these sorts of Tasca tracks and in particular;

What sort of paint works best Acrylic or Enamel?

Do I need to prime

Any other handy tips

Cheers

I've never had success painting rubber band tracks with acrylics. The paint just doesn't seem to want to stick to it and flakes off.

Guy showed me a trick- pick up a can of bumper spray paint from the auto parts store. It's made for rubber and rubber-like plastic and can be applied as a primer under any other coats you want to spray.

Thanks for the replies guys, I was toying with the idea of base painting the tracks of the kit and then fitting them but I really don't think that going to be an option.

Looks like I'll have to fix them in place and then prime and keep my fingers crossed.

Cheers
