Retirement project
Posted by Beobachtungsbereich on Friday, August 17, 2012 11:20 AM

A fella approached me a few months ago and asked if I could build him a model of a Leo2A6(M). He was retiring in a couple months after serving for 37 years.

Of course I said yes.

This was the end result. I built the Hobby Boss Leo2A6(M) OOB with a few mods like we had in the field.

The map is a scaled down map of Zhari/ Panjwaii and the outskirts of Kandahar.

I've really grown to like the Leopard tank. Beautiful work and he should be proud of your work.

Thanks all!

I put well over 110 hours on this one and put in details that only crews would be familiar with, such as worn track pads, chunked road wheels, blown hub seal, overflowed diesel from it being over filled, bent slat armour, uneven armour due to it being mounted and dismounted time and again for maintenance.

The rain marks were the hardest thing to get right.

I put in field mods like the tarp as a field expedient tent, rear ladder to mount from the rear if there was a need to mount in a hurry, portable shitter as we had to use shitter bags when we were out on ops.

He was blown away by it all and apparently he looked at it for the past few weeks and is still discovering details.

TANKS again for looking!
