A13 Cruiser Tank II Mk IV WIP
Posted by constructor on Monday, September 3, 2012 6:26 AM

I started this Cruiser Tank by Bronco this Sunday. The detail of the kit is fantastic although no interior detail is included. The instruction sheet is clear enough for a regular builder like me. I started working on the chassis with the interior suspension springs which would hardly if at all be seen on the finished tank.  As usual, Bronco does not include the plastic parts when it is in the PE. The only indication of an early and a later model is the presence of two turrets and two cupolas. I do not know in these will be the only diffrence between the early and the late model tank.

An interesting and beautiful box art

The chassis with the suspension springs assembled

the underside of the chassis

The warped upper hull but trying it on, I think it will not be a very difficult problem

Some of my sub-assemblies

The individual track parts are so tiny and hard to hold so I put them together with the end still attached to the sprue. It is working very well for me.

I keep my small parts and sub assemblies in a plastic box in bought in a japanese curio shop.

Looks like a good start.  That plastic box is a good idea.

I can't believe that a new molding would have such a warped part as that upper hull. Pretty disappointing.

That hull being warped is pretty odd for it being new

Mine had a warped upper hull also, but it straightened out when it was glued to the lower hull.

Wow that is some serious warpage on the upper hull there. I've only seen you post finished model pictures which are really great builds so I'm eager to see how you go about your business. Keep us posted.
