They close for good Sept 30, 2012. They have everything 40% off until they sell out or Sept 30.

That is a shame,Sad  but it all got confusing when Mig J. sold or left mig pigments to form AK etc. ... I am still not sure who owns or sells what ,but I do know that Migs Pigs ( as Shell would say) are a great product and so is the AK stuff.

Hi Shell : )

Mig pigments was founded by Miguel (read MIG) Jimenez. those pigments are his product, but he sold the company and started AK (i think) but the company ( MIG ) retained his name.

I have used some AK products, they are in the same kind of price range and very high quality also they have many ready made washes and special weathering products. Here is a link to their website. It is very informative http://akinteractive.foroactivo.com/ .  You love those MIGS PIGS !!  me too, but the AK is very nice and there are even company's that sell pigments for model railroading with colors that are so close or the same you would be surprised !

Hope that site helps you out, man

Wheeee  Wheeee  Wheeeeeeee

Oh? wrong pig?  Ah, MIG Pig!  Sorry

***

On a side note Maybe there's a kind of irony in that MIG USA is closeing , as the current parent companys management reaps something they sowed ?

Because it always seemed to me,(the split up)  to be one of theose board room battles that boiled down to "...you'll do it our way or get out." So he got out.--- formed the new company (AK) doing the same thing-   curiouser and curiouser

It is a shame and I wish Rick well. AK has done a phenomenal job getting caught back up and then far surpassing MIG. The MIG company as a whole is only a creative shell of what it was when MIG was there.

All the best Rick

I haven't bought any MIG products since Miguel Jimenez left and went into business with AK.  Rick is right in that the company was really just a shell after Mig and his creative influence left.

That whole thong was clouded in mystery as to what really happened with Migs leaving.  Sorry to see anyone go under.  Placed an order for some stuff. At my build rate lately I will be leaving it to someone in my will.

Clay, I assume orders should be filled from the MIG Productions headquarters in Spain.

OK...so I went there and looked...figured 40% off....then I said naaaah

Besides I find myself liking the AK pigments and washes better and there is nothing they have in resin I want. I feel bad for MIG productions...seems like a once great lake that has gone stagnant.
