I wanted a way of being able to see these parts better so I painted the hull OD Green.

Remember this is a"conversion" for the Dragon LVT

(the LVT(A)-1 Kit# 7387 or the LVT(A)-4 Kit# 7388)

It will fit either one.

(I don't know why my pic's aren't showing up)

Well at last this is done.....

I worked day and night.

But here it is!!!

Unfortunatly the resin is the same shade as the plastic kit,

so it's a little hard to see.

Well....ran into small trouble....

Needed "channel" to do the skate rail....didn't have any....

so I "made" it.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08936.jpg

While that dried I did some more floor details,

IE the gunners platforms and a rib towards the rear.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08923.jpg

I checked it for the gunner's hieght.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08922.jpg

Then I mounted the foward skate rail, added the gun mounts,

and "test" fitted the rear skate rail.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08935.jpg

Then I double checked the gun mount posisions with the crew.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08933.jpg

Due to "casting" issues, the foward gun mounts will be a seprate piece.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08937.jpg

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08938.jpg

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08939.jpg

I also did a little more fiddling with the rear skate rail.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08940.jpg

After all this I was looking at the rest of the LVT(A)-1 that I had cut for the foward cab.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08924.jpg

I thought hmmmmmmmm....and tried this.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08926.jpg

This might work for future projects.

This is going to be very helpful as I plan on building – in 1/72 of course, an LVT (first generation) from each of the WWII USMC Battalions that operated the vehicles: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th Amphibian Tractor Battalions (LVT1, LVT2, LVT(A)2, LVT4 and LVT3) and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Armored Amphibian Battalions (LVT(A)1 and LVT(A)4).

Ok here is the progress for today.

Here I filled in the front Gun Port, and Fabbed a new hatch.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08920.jpg

Here is the tub "dropped" down into the LVT hull.

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08916.jpg

Here is the "tub" outside the hull:

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08917.jpg

Tub facing from the back:

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08918.jpg

Tub facing from the front:

i1060.photobucket.com/.../DSC08919.jpg

I still have some inside details to work out, things like the skate rail, Gunner's platforms, etc.

And I still have some other little bits to finish as well, IE.... Hatches.

But it will soon be ready for the rubber.

My apologies and I feel like a heel for not following up on that, and worse that my memory is failing me at the moment.  I went back through the posts and conversations because I cannot recall the specific uniform items.  If you can let me know today I can make it priority one as this is my last Friday in Cali.

Here are the LVT3 and LVT3C pictures I have acquired, most through my lens but some through purchase.

Well again since this "early" morning I have been hard at work.

I have finished the vents at the back,

and did the drive shaft "housing".

Once I glue this in place I'll glue the 4 bulkheads together.

to Deattilio:

I still need pic's of the LVT3 (from above).

You never got back to me about the Uniform Items I needed at Clothing Sales.

Well I've gotten a little farther since yesterday.

The tuffest part is doing the slats in the back,

but I got the rivet detail (at least some of it) done.

Dont let the gaps turn your heads,

Once through, they'll be gone.

When I'm done this will be a "drop in" tub for converting the Dragon LVT.

Forgot to mention, started to putty over the front Gun Port.

This model didn't have them yet.

Also thinking of doing the earlier version of the LVT2 as well.

Looking good!  Below is a pic of some of the herd I dropped off for display at the LVT Museum today.  The curator is having them mounted and will stick them in one of the cases.  I didn’t get a chance to get into he museum, was saying bye to all old friends before I depart the state.  I also included a link to photos of the LVT(A)2 I took some time ago.

Well I started off first thing this morning.

Now due to the small size,

small details will omitted,

while others will need to be exaggerated

So here are a couple more pic's.

Awesome!!! I have this in the "to do" pile. I picked up Verlinden's 1/35 conversion so I could scale those parts down to 1/72. I may stop at the LVT Museum tomorrow and will snap pictures if I do, I am dropping off my herd of gators, the four LVT(A)4s to be put in there. I would offer further assistance but all of my belongings are in transit and I will be following shortly and do not expect to be "up and running" until early-October.

Well I have been putting this off long enough.
This will be a conversion for the Dragon LVT(A)1 (kit #7387)
First I removed the 3 screw pegs in the bottom.

Then I placed a floor in it.

Then I took one of my casts of the LVT(A)1 and cut off the cab,
here it is placed for fit.

I then made the rear and front Bulkheads.

Next I'll start the Port and Starboard bulkheads, and start detailing the insides.
