Thanks Jon. are these ok with AK interactive washes etc (they are enamel based i think)
The Brit stuff that I came across during my tour of duty in the Balkans in 2005 had a darker more drab green base color. To my eye, Tamiya's Khaki Drab would be a VERY good match for the base color. Has the British Army even adopted the NATO Tri Color camo? Everything that I saw was still in Green/Black which goes way back.
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

looking at the tamiya nato green it does look a bit light, especially if i am going to weather it after. Cant really tell from advertising pics, they could be miles off the actual colour of the paint when used which is why i asked. ill look at the drab like you suggest. maybe ill hold off until i can find a better one from another manufacturer, any suggestions?
No, i have not seen a brit in tricolour either, although i seem to remember a chieftain in a different tri colour paint scheme, possibly urban camo.
Tamiya's NATO green is pretty much spot on for the NATO Tri Color as used by by most of the NATO countries. I know that the French while they use the same pattern style the Green and Brown shades are lighter and brighter. I can only say from what I saw, and I had always read that Bronze Green was the British Army base color. But when I saw that stuff up close I sure thought Khaki Drab was an excellent match.
Hmm. thinking about what you said perhaps looking for "NATO" colours for british Kosovo armour whas a mistake in the first place, I obviously should just be looking for standard "British" green camo paint. Damn good point Sir! I have a lot to learn.
Thats half the fun of this hobby is the reasearch and learning. Quite educational.
Correct or accurate color is and has always been a point of argument. Paint your model as you see best.

True, and after fading washes filters dir dust and all the little toys we love to play with the end result will alway just be a variation on a theme, but it is still nice to be somwhere close to start with.
I was going thru my pics from overseas and found this one showing a couple UK Refueler trucks (bowsers I think you guys call them) on the airfield at Butmir near Sarajevo, in Bosnia
