Any Hummer H2's for military purposes?

Once you leave the states, the rules change and most vehicles are procured locally, donated by corporations or host nations, or liberated and placed into use. When I did my 2nd tour in Kuwait after Desert Storm, we used these Toyota pickup trucks, some white and some tan, that looked like safari trucks from a Wild Kingdom TV show. No plates, no log books, some didn't even use keys. Troops called them 'snake trucks' I guess because of the safari look to them.

This was one of the NTVs I drove in the Balkans outside the wire. You could put half a squad in one. We had two per squad.

Yes, most of the larger SUVs are coming in hybrids. The US Mint Police on Knox (dudes from the Treasury Dept) still use large SUVs, but they weren't part of Fort Knox garrison. We didn't get rid of all of the large SUVs. Vehicles like the fire chief's truck, range control manager's truck, many more were still large SUVs. You just had to have reasonable justification. It was every Tom, *** and Harry that used an SUV as an on-post runaround that had theirs turned in for something smaller like a sedan. We even got a small fleet (literally) of these electric cars (like enclosed golf cart thingies that meter maids use) to get around post.

Yeah, But I don't have Fords or Honda's, they're are Hummers,
I know they have those but I liked Hummers and bought those when I was a kid...

Vorhut, I know China has Hummers, I saw a picture of one of them but wanted something more special than a 'regular' black Hummer with only a black paint job. Seems like I'm running out of options...

China bought the H2, actually if you look at some photos of PLA vehicles you'll see some strangely H2 looking military vehicles. I belive they bought it from GM around 2009. So the great excessive elephant of a SUV is Chinese.

Rob - We still have our Ford Escapes at USDA from GSA, but they are all hybrids. The FAA Sky Marshalls in the building next to us have Black Ford Excursions with tinted windows. I wonder if they are armored as well??? I haven't seen any H2's used by DHS, CBP around us, they usually have sedans or passenger minivans.

No, the US Government doesn't use the H2 as a military vehicle. I did find some Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice H2 Hummers though.

Okay, thanks for all the responses and all, but I haven't moved anywhere forward since I asked this question, I also try to search but
1: Don't know what place would be good to start and 
2: Google isn't helping on this one really.

Are there actually any H2's that are being used anywhere? (as a military sort of vechile)
I really don't care what the purpose is of the vechile, if it is just used as an MP or inspection vehicle I really couldn't care less, I just want it to have any military purpose so it would fit with the rest of my models.
Even something 'law enforcing' would be good. (but than it would have to bee something without the lights on the roof)

My only Back-up now is that I made a post-apocalyptical version or a 'death race' spoof of the things...

An H2 is also a sign of excess. When I was inventorying the fleet of GSA vehicles for Fort Knox's garrison, the push was to get rid of SUVs unless absolutely necessary. I was able to keep a Jeep Cheroke I needed to inspect ranges, but all the Ford Explorers had to go. Funny thing is that we were able to keep the virtually identical Explorer Sport Track (pickup truck version). Because pickup truck didn't have the negative connotation that SUV did when gas prices were up around $5 post-Katrina.

A pickup truck sounds like a work vehicle, an SUV sounds like it is for fun.

The H2 is just a Hummer type body on a standard truck chasis. It loses the clearance and other advantages of the HMMWV chasis. I for one would see no need for it. That being aside, during my time in the Balkans, our Task Force did have a nice little batch of Toyota and Nissan SUVs for our NTVs. Let's just say that we used those more often than our HMMWVs.

We, the US Government, get all of our non-tactical vehicles from the GSA (General Services Administration, google them for all their bad press regarding waste & excesses). The GSA in turn leases these vehicles to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, FBI, CIA, etc.

I looked up the GSA fleet site and did a search of the makes they offer for auction (they sell off older vehicles). The vast majority of vehicles are Chevys (1379), followed by Ford (569), Dodge (546) and so on down the list. I didn't see Hummer listed.
