Lovely work Manstein!  Always liked your bold work on the figures.  And I really like the first figgie... is it from Alpine too?

Thanks. Actually the fig in the Mk III is a very old Verloinden figure, one of the first they ever issued as a matter of fact...classic pose...haven't seen one for sale since the late '80's...

Thanks Mike!  Its my personal rule that I must add a figure or few to all of my armor builds.  It takes a lot of practice and patience... you will not like my first set of figures I worked on few years ago. LOL

Excellent job all around!  Wish I could paint figures as well, they add so much to a model.

Manstein- Thanks!  Figured you have rode in one of those Ks.  Another pic of the figure for you to enjoy... sorry no female figures this time.  Kept him as pale as possible because it was cold and ugly in Russia!!!

Closer shot...

Yeah, I rode in a few K's---especially during the relief attempt of Stalingrad and then at Kharkov...I kit-bashed a Tamiya Mk IIIJ w/ an old Dragon Mk III (with some scratching) to come up w/ my command tank:

My figgie:

Castelnuovo- Thanks!!!  Glad you liked the pics... 6th pic is my favorite too.  I'd soil my pants if I was a Russian soldier in the trench. 8-)

Bill- Thanks!  Glad you enjoyed following my build... thanks to you I have learned so much how to do better.  Beer

Rob- For sure it will be a nice break from building older kits as I will be building latest Tiger kit next.  I have been doing pre-shading since my first build but this is my first time doing post shading and I think I will do that from now on. Wink

Glad you liked the base.  Following many of your WIPs on base really helped!  So thank you for doing those WIPs! Beer

Very nice Andy Yes  You really done this older kit to the newer standards.  The post shading was done very well but my favorite has to be the hull sides up in the running gear....that's nice.  Your painting of the base also looks great and look forward to seeing your builds put onto more bases.  Now too #10 Cool

Enjoyed watching #9 come together Andy! Very nice work and goes to show that the older kits can still be built up into nice finsihed projects. Beer

Ibuild148- Thank you... appreciate it!

Eric- Thanks! Beer  Glad you liked the base.  Wish MIG makes more bases like those!  I will do my best to make Tiger as good as Pz III K. LOL  Can't wait... my workbench is all cleaned up so I am ready now and  weekend starts in 6-7 hours!

Blitz- LOL!  Glad you liked it.  First it was primed in black.  Then I used three different brown Vallejo paints so it won't look too monotoned.  Then rocks were painted with lighter such as tan or sand.  Heavily thinned raw umber oil paint was used for dark washes.  Also I used two different MIG pigments too... Russian Earth and Dark Mud.  Hope this helps... appreciate your nice words.

Greg- Hard to believe it has been three years already and I have only built nine kits.  Still remember great times building the StuGs!   My door is always open if you ever are in town!!! Big Smile  Definitely will need your help while building my first Tiger... please stand by!

Anthony- Thanks man!!!  Meet my best friend... AK Interactive Dunkelgrau Modulation Set.  I am so sold!!!

It is how it looked after paint job...

Instead of airbrushing the lightest tone I dry brushed the highest points.

I used MIG pigments for the lower hull... brush dipped into mix then blown into the hull using airbrush at very low PSI.  It worked just great!  Be sure to practice on strap or something because it took me a while to do it right.

Tracks?  I have been hooked to Friuls... used them for this build. LOL  You can see that I already have Friuls for Tiger I.

Hope this helps... hope to see you in Steel Cats GB?

Lovely work all round. The base looks like you've just torn out a chunk of dirt from the yard or something. Very realistic.

Ben- Glad you liked it... thanks!!!  Figure is from Alpine.  Think its the VERY first release because of its number... 35001?  Got via eBay for about $12.  Had to get it because it was a perfect fit for the command tank... shooting the flare gun for some action!

Marc- LOL!  Thanks man!  Hopefully my #20 will look like YOURS!  No kidding... Wink  I have learned so much from you guys.  Remember that!

Base is from MIG... too bad they only make two bases.  Made of plaster so it took a lot of paint!

More pictures of the base...

Now I have to get the another base but its only for a Panzer I only.

Kenny- Thanks mate!  Glad it caught your eyes! Beer
